Domaine Thomas
Loire Valley, Sancerre
Wine Maker: Jean Thomas

Domaine Thomas is run by the ninth generation of the family. Jean and his wife Ginette own 13 hectares at Verdigny, mostly planted to Sauvignon blanc. This is Sancerre at its flinty, minerally, racy best. Very clean, fresh and flavoursome wine at a moderate 12.5% alcohol. This is as all Sancerre should be - absolutely no oak.

Thomas Sancerre is the perfect wine to accompany seafood and risotto dishes, or deliciously refreshing on its own. It’s not the biggest selling Sancerre in Australia for no reason!

Reviews from recent vintages -
“Primal mineral rocky aromas, with tangy currants and loads of gooseberry. Flinty. Attacks with zest and pith and builds tangy gooseberries across the palate as well as nutty smoky characters. Love the mouth-watering pithy characters. 92/100” Tim White, AFR, February 20-22, 2004.

“Indulge Yourself, Five-Star, $$ reasonably priced relative to quality” Ralph Kyte-Powell, The Age, Epicure Uncorked, 23.01. 2004
